My Pink Floyd presets are now available for the Blackstar ID:X Floor, all three versions (One/Two/Three) ! This pack have presets for the following songs : In the flesh, Time, Mother, Have a cigar, Us and them, Any color you like, Brain damage, Eclipse, Money, Marooned, Echoes (main parts only), Run like hell, Breathe, Sorrow (intro only) , Young lust, On the turning away, Shine on you crazy diamond (parts 1-5), Hey you, High hopes, The great gig in the sky, The final cut, Another brick in the wall pt 1, The happiest days of our life, Another brick in the wall pt 2, Comfortably numb, Wish you were here and Goodbye blue sky.
In the video above, I used a live recording of my band as a backing track, in which the original guitar performance was muted. Then, I played all my guitar parts live in my studio, recording DI tracks that I reamped through my Blackstar ID:X Floor. Btw, those live backing tracks are also available :
Making those presets with the limitations of the ID:X Flor wasn’t an easy task ! But it’s a challenge I had fun taking on. Here’s a list of small issues I had :
– The delay times in the delay block can’t be set at the millisecond level, you often have to chose between the two nearest values, which is a problem for songs like “Run like hell” and “Another brick in the wall part 1”. And songs like “Run like hell” needs not one, but two delays.
– The modulations can’t be placed before the amp, which is unfortunate because they sounds better before distortion on songs like “Have a cigar”, “Time” etc. Plus, some of those modulations changes the EQ of the sound too much.
– No rotary block (I used a chorus on fast speed to fake one), no pitch block (so no harmonies on “The final cut” and the swell in the intro of “Comfortably numb”), no whammy (I used an external one on “Marooned”)
– No custom IR loading, which is generally essential for me. But I could make it work anyway here !
