IK Multimedia ToneX V2

The best Tonex V2 presets packs just got better ! These new presets benefit from the improved accuracy of
the V2 capture technology, as well as other enhancements that greatly simplify the process, such as the ability to
capture multiple Tone Models in succession and render them afterwards. This pushed me to make many more Tone Models
for each profiled amp, and this increased number of captures also led me to adopt a more systematic approach, such
as capturing all the modes of all channels, making multiple captures with the same IR (*) but varying the
gain levels, and, for the first time, also making DI Tone Models – in doing so, for example, I went from 43 V1
captures for the Mashall JVM 410 to 91 with V2 ! I also benefited from the addition of improved reamp boxes.

Because of this, each amp I captured is now available in a single pack, and the price of each pack will
reflect the number of presets/Tone Models (each preset use a distinct Tone Model, of course).

(*) As usual, the presets with an embedded IR are meant to be used straight into studio
monitors/FRFR amps/FOH mixer, not with real guitar speakers/external. As said above, I also included DI Tone Models
this time (except for my Ax-Fx III captures), but I still prefer to make presets with embedded IRs, as for me, the
real art is in combining an amp and its cab. I only use presets with embedded IRs myself.

These three packs has Tone Models of my favorite Axe-Fx III presets – I’m one of the most popular presets
programmer for the Axe-Fx III/FM3/FM9, I even make factory presets for them. Part 1 has cleans, edge of
breakup, crunch, fusion tones, and some mid gain captures of amps like the Friedman BE ; Part 2 has mostly
mid gain/high gain presets of Marshall and Marshall-like amps, plus the Purple channel of the Revv Generator amp ;
Part 3 has all the high gain modern amps, including the Red channel of the Revv Generator amp.

Details on some amp captures

MeBoog MK V 35w : If most of the amps I captured were borrowed from friends, this is one of the
amps I own. Previously, I had made only 9 “V1” captures of that amp (with only 1 clean, 1 drive channel in Extreme
mode etc.), most of which were captures of the drive channel in MK IV mode, my favorite. This time, I made several
captures of each mode of each channel, including DI versions. Besides my usual high gain captures for metal heads
(this is what this amp is made for, after all), I made V2 captures of the Clean channel in crunch mode for blues
rock/classic rock ; and some captures of the Drive channel in MKII mode are great for smooth, singing creamy leads,
perfect for fusion/classic rock.

MeBoog Lonestr : I really love my V1 captures of this amp, it was the biggest one, with not less
than 68 captures. It was my only pack to include captures of various drive pedals into the clean channel. This V2
pack is comparatively smaller with “only” 36 presets. This time, I included more “pure” captures (clean channel :
7  instead of 4 for V1 version, drive channel : 6 instead of 3 for V1
version). There are also 16 captures with drive pedals into the clean and sometimes drive channel, with new pedals I
didn’t have before, like a Crazy Tube Circuits Unobtanium Klon, King of Tone (clone), JHS Double Barrel or Browne
Amplification protein. But I recommend you use my OD Stomps Big Collection pack with the “pedal platform”
preset of this pack too. It has not less than 144 captures of  20
OD/distortion/fuzz pedals !

Crab Nimbus : This one is a special order I received this year, from a guy in Ukraine that makes
great clone of various amps at incredible prices. Although I’m more of a metalhead, I always loved the Dumble sound,
and even if I already had the great Synergy OS, which is another Dumble ODS clone, I had to order it !

Marsh JV410H (modded) : My V1 pack for this amp had 43 presets. This V2 version has 91 presets,
including 34 DI ! As previously, I captured each channel (clean, crunch, OD1, OD2) in each mode (green, orange,
red), but with more gain variations at the beginning of each serie of captures.

Sold SLO30 : For V1, I had made only 11 captures of that great amp, because I couldn’t borrow it
for a long time : 3 with my own settings for lead playing, 8 with settings used by the friend who owns it, with
various boost pedals. This time, for V2, I made 27 captures : 7 cleans, 4 crunch (clean channel in overdrive mode),
16 drive channels with various gain settings, and 8 DI captures. Some of my absolute favorite liquid leads are there
!
