(firmware 2.60 and above)
New in my catalog, each Amp Pack focuses on an high gain amp model (*), and has 16 presets (+ 1 dual amp preset). Those presets are built on the same “do it all” template, with 8 snapshots (only the user cab and the amp EQ changes from preset to preset).
Also included are 17 custom cabs (or IRs), 16 of which are brand new. I wanted some new metal and rock tones, so I made many new custom IRs, which I would use both for live and recording. The 17th cab, used for clean tones, was in my previous packs. As usual, those presets are for FRFR systems.
(*) Those packs were made with the hard rockers and metalheads in mind. I will release more packs focused on classic rock and blues tones.
The snapshots are as follow :
1 Rhythm
2 Lead
3 Crunch
4 Clean
5 Clean with modulation
6 Stereo rhythm
7 Stereo lead
8 Recording
The clean snapshots (4 and 5) uses another amp model and cab, which is not the same in each pack (as are the delay, boost, reverb, modulation models etc.). Some of the presets uses the two latest amp models, Placater Clean and Cali Texas Ch1.
Each preset has the same template, with Gate / Compression / Boost /Amp 1 / Amp 2 (for clean) / EQ (often with multiband compression) / Cab/ Volume / Doubler / Modulation / Delay / Reverb. There’s still room if you want to add more effects, like a wha, an harmonizer or another modulation effect.
So, to summarize : 16 different versions of a 8 snapshots preset, using 16 new custom cabs, suitable both for live and studio – plus a 17th dual amp bonus preset, in stereo.
About the user cabs :
To simplify things, preset N° 1 uses cab N° 1, preset N° 2 cab N° 2 etc. (in snapshots 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8 ; snapshots 4 & 5 uses the “clean” IR). If you need to store the IRs to different locations, here’s a video showing how to modify a preset, if, for example, you decide to store my IR N° 8 at your user memory N° 9 :
Of course, you don’t have to use all of the presets & cabs from one given pack – and that’s why each pack is priced like it was a single preset. Here, I’m providing tonal options, each preset is a variation from the basic template – warmer, brighter, scooped etc. You can chose to keep only the 3-4 IRs you like the best, or even only one.
Typically, I’ll use 4 of them myself, especially for recording rhythm guitars, where it’s always a good thing to have slightly different tones on the left and right channels.
This is especially useful for those who like to record heavy rhythm guitars, they have at their disposal a wide library of rhythm tones for left and right channels to chose from ; plus, those IRs really shine for studio recording, as I had that in mind when I made them.
Of course, you can make your own presets with those new cabs. Or use different IRs in different snapshots in the same presets etc…
Pricing : each mini-pack costs only € 9 ; the bundle (all 16 packs) has a special price of € 90 instead of €144.
