Thank you for buying my Mooer GE1000 Pink Floyd pack ! These 99 presets covers 28 songs : Another brick in the wall Pt 1 & 2, The happiest days of our lives, Breathe, Comfortably numb, Coming back to life, Dogs, Echoes (a condensed version), Goodbye blue sky, Have a cigar, Hey you, High hopes, In the flesh, Marooned, Money, Mother, On the turning away, Run like hell, Shine on you crazy diamond, The final cut, The great gig in the sky, Time, Us and them, Any color you like, Brain damage/Eclipse, Wish you were here, Young lust (with “Sorrow” intro).
The songs are those I play with my Pink Floyd tribute band. Most of the time we cover the studio versions, but the presets here combines the studio sounds with the live PULSE versions. For “Mother”, we play the Roger Waters “The Wall” live version ; for “Any color you like”, the Dream Theater cover version. Note that I used an Axe-Fx live with my band. This pack is a recreation of those Axe-Fx presets, for the Mooer GE1000.
I recommend that you watch my YouTube demo video, where I play almost all the songs, and show which preset is used used for which part.
These presets are optimized for stereo, with FRFR amps and/or studio monitors/direct to PA, and not with regular amps, unless you use something like a Boss Katana in FRFR mode. They should ideally be used with a Fender Stratocaster type guitar with a SSS or HSS pickups config. I used a Squier Stratocaster with the David Gilmour EMG DG20 kit to tweak them. The acoustic simulation presets are meant to be used with a Strat neck pickup. “Run like hell” is for a Telecaster type guitar.
As I used a EMG DG20 set, most of the time, I used the mid booster for the distortion tones. My other Strat has a Seymour Duncan SL5 in bridge, also used by David Gilmour.
Some songs are meant to be played consecutively (like Us and them/Any color you like/Brain damage/Eclipse), check my demo video to see in which order my band plays them. Arranging the presets in the correct sequence makes changing presets for the different parts of each song easier.
You may find the amount of delay/reverb too wet on some songs, specially the leads. Watch the full demo video : when playing with a full band, in a big space, this is the amount needed to fit naturally in the mix. My inspiration for this is the live versions, specially from PULSE and Delicate sound of thunder. Of course, you may prefer a dryer sound, just back off the “mix” parameters in the delay and reverb blocks.
Also pay attention to the .xls file, where I explain what scene is used in what part of each song, but also the pickups position used on my guitar when I make the presets !
