New packs, with only V2 captures, processed on the Cloud (**), for your Quad Cortex ! Each pack has between 3 and 6 presets, each preset has several captures (generally 6), and each capture has its dedicated scene. There are also DI (no cab) captures, but most captures have been made with my custom IRs and a Suhr Reactive Load IR loadbox. For now, V2 captures are available for the following four amps (and many more are coming !) :
Engl Ironball – 18 captures, including 6 amp only (no cab), in 3 presets. It’s the first time I’ve made captures with this lunchbox beast, which is tailored for the high gainers out there. It may be small, but sound big !
Crab Nimbus – 23 captures, including 7 amp only (no cab), in 4 presets. This is a Dumble ODS clone made in Ukraine, that I received a few months ago, so these are my first Quad Cortex captures with it. I may be first and foremost a metalhead, I’ve always loved that Dumble sound ! Now, it’s true that the latest Quad Cortex firmware has a Dumble model and captures. I still prefer my captures, specially with my custom “Boutique” IRs. Like with the other 3 amps available in V2, I used many different IRs, for tonal variations.
Mesa Boogie Triple Crown – 32 captures, including 14 amp only (no cab), in 6 presets. This is probably the most versatile Mesa Boogie amp, with a great clean channel, a Blue channel with a very British character, and a Red channel for the high gainers, in the pure Mesa tradition. The V1 version of this amp had 16 captures, so there are twice as many now. I also used many new custom IRs while making the captures.
Mesa Boogie Lonestar – 32 captures, including 6 Amp only (no cab), in 6 presets. I really love my V1 captures of this amp, it was my biggest pack, with not less than 61 captures. It was my only pack to include captures of various drive pedals into the clean channel. This V2 pack is comparatively smaller with “only” 32 presets. This time, I included more “pure” captures of both the clean and drive channel. Like for the V1 version, there are also many captures with drive pedals into the clean and sometimes drive channel, mostly with new pedals I didn’t have before, like a Crazy Tube Circuits Unobtanium Raw (Klon side), a King of Tone clone, JHS Double Barrel or Browne Amplification Protein, plus three captures with Rat and a Big Muff that sounds awesome for Pink Floyd (yes, I’ll need to revisit my Pink Floyd pack with those…) ! You can also use my OD Stomps Big Collection pack with the “pedal platform” preset of this pack too. It has not less than 314 captures of 20 OD/distortion/fuzz pedals !
As usual, the full captures are meant to be used with FRFR systems/studio monitors/FOH, while the DI ones can be used with the IRs of your choice (I did include my custom IRs in the presets though). The presets are 100% mono compatible, however I always use stereo myself, for the boucing delays etc. !
(**) As such, they are not included in my previous Amp Captures Full Bundle. But there will be a bundle for them when more amps will be added.
