Boss GT-1000 – Fremen’s Essentials

The Fremen’s Essentials pack for the Boss GT-1000/GT-1000 Core has 81 presets and 15 user cabs (*). These are a collection of cleans/rock/fusion/metal tones, using all the Amps of the GT-1000, except the bass ones. The focus here is on getting the best tones with each amp model. These are the sounds I use with a pop-rock-metal-modern blues cover band.

(*) more presets added with firmware 4.0 ; there’s now more than 100 presets.

These presets were made with a Fender Stratocaster type guitar (HSS pickups). I usually use the bridge humbucker for moderate distortion to high gain, and single coils (bridge + middle, or neck, or also both humbuckers on a HH guitar) for clean tones and edge of breakup/light crunch. The CTL 1 switch is used in almost all presets, for tonal variation (rhythm/lead, or adding modulations/delays etc). Made on a GT-1000 Core, they are compatible with the regular, non-Core version of the Boss GT-1000.

Edit 12 February 2022 : I made a new setlist using the big version of the GT1000. The presets in this new version (made with firmware 3.20.0) are enhanced compared to the older version, specially the mid and high gain presets. I used a new studio monitoring system to improve them. This new setlist should also be used in the Core version.

These presets are meant to be used with the RECORDING Output mode, and in stereo, ideally with FRFR amps and/or studio monitors, and direct to PA.

Delivery:

After purchase, the files will be available in the “My Account” section of fremenpresets.com These files are in a .zip compressed archive. PC users can use Winrar, Winzip or 7zip to extract them. Popular tools for MAC users are Stuffit Expander, Unrar x or The Unarchiver. Most computers already have tools for that, and most of these applications are free.

  It’s in the PDF : Installation : Import the user IRs using GT-1000 IR Loader, check “User
  cabs placement.txt” and “User cabs placement.jpg” for the correct slots. Both apps
  are available here :

  Also check the .txt file and the screenshot in the user cabs folder. If you still have problems doing it, let me know.
