Boss GT-1000 – Pink Floyd presets pack

These 68 presets covers 28 Pink Floyd songs : Another brick in the wall Pt 1 & 2, The happiest days of our lives, Breathe, Comfortably numb, Coming back to life (*), Dogs (*), Echoes, Goodbye blue sky, Have a cigar, Hey you, High hopes, In the flesh, Marooned, Money, Mother, On the turning away, Run like hell, Shine on you crazy diamond, The final cut, The great gig in the sky, Time, Us and them, Any color you like, Brain damage/Eclipse, Wish you were here, Young lust (with “Sorrow” intro). Also included are 6 user cabs (IRs).

(*) Dogs & Coming back to life have been added for firmware 3.20.0 version of this pack. Please read the xls file for details, as there are different presets versions for Dogs.

The songs are those I play with my Pink Floyd tribute band. Most of the time we cover the original studio versions, sometimes it’s the live versions. For “Mother”, we play the Roger Waters “The Wall” live version ; for “Any color you like”, the Dream Theater cover version. “Money” is tweaked for the “Delicate sound of thunder” live version, “Comfortably numb” too. Note that I used an Axe-Fx II, then Axe-FX III, live with my band. This pack is a recreation of those Axe-Fx presets.

Included in the pack is an .xls file showing which preset is used for which part of which song, and when to use CTL 1/CTL 2 within a preset.

These presets should ideally be used with a Fender Stratocaster type guitar (SSS, or HSS). The acoustic simulation presets are meant to be used with a Strat neck pickup, but I also included a preset for electric guitars equipped with piezo pickups. They were made on a GT-1000 Core, with an expression pedal connected to the EXP 2 socket, and a footswitch to the CTL 2, 3 socket (a few presets uses the CTL 2 switch). I use the expression pedal for Marooned.

Of course, the presets are fully compatible with the regular, non-Core version of the Boss GT-1000 – with firmware 3.20.0, I edited them on the regular GT1000. I also fine-tuned them a lot, using a new IR. If you bought the original version of the pack, it is recommended that you install the new version, there are many improvements in the presets ! There are now two setlists, one for guitars with 3 single coil pickups (SSS), one for guitars with a humbucker in bridge position (HSS).
