These 26 presets (and 13 user cabs) covers 28 Pink Floyd songs : Another brick in the wall Pt 1 & 2, The happiest days of our lives, Breathe, Comfortably numb, Coming back to life, Dogs, Echoes (intro/verses/chorus/main solo only), Goodbye blue sky, Have a cigar, Hey you, High hopes, In the flesh, Marooned, Money, Mother, On the turning away, Run like hell, Shine on you crazy diamond, The final cut, The great gig in the sky, Time, Us and them, Any color you like, Brain damage/Eclipse, Wish you were here, Young lust. They’re converted from the Axe-Fx III versions, some of which were too complex/too CPU hungry for the FM3, so a lot of work was needed to make them. Latest version included : Firmware 13.00.
For firmware 10.00 and above, the presets were tweaked with two SSS Stratocasters (***) : one with the EMG DG20 kit as used by David Gilmour on PULSE, the other with a Seymour Duncan SSL-5 in bridge, as used by Gilmour on his famous Black Strat. I also changed my approach to the Gilmour sound here, using only overdrive/fuzz pedals into clean amps (Hiwatt DR103 and Fender Twin Reverb). At the beginning of the year, I went into a OD/fuzz pedals buying spree, and spent months experimenting with them (and capturing them with Tonex/Quad Cortex/Headrush Prime etc.). I then recreated my favorite sounds from these experiments with the Axe-Fx III/FM3/FM9 drive models/clean amp platforms.
I also found the best online service to isolate guitar tracks (better than Moises, RipX or Lalala.ai) and used that on all Pink Floyd songs included here, to better isolate, then analyze, the original recordings. As usual, the sounds are a combination of studio and live recordings. Often, the live versions have more ambience (delay/reverb), and more gain. However, here, I use less gain than before.
(***) except “Run like hell”, which should be played on a Telecaster.
Here’s an Axe-Fx III recording of a recent version, but not the last one, using my band’s live recording as a backing track (my original guitar is muted). The FM3 sounds are the same, with a very few exceptions (like no multiband compression for some acoustic sounds in rare cases) :
Here’s a recording with the Axe-Fx III version of the previous update (firmware 9.00), using my band’s live recording as a backing track (my original guitar is muted) :
Some presets uses acoustic sounds in specific scenes. Those I personally use are made for an electric guitar with a piezo system. There are also alternate versions for standard electric guitar and/or real acoustic guitars (with onboard piezo and preamp systems) in different scenes of the same presets. 3 of the included IRs are for acoustic simulation.
For this older demo, I used a live recording of my band, muted the original guitar track, and played using these presets at home :
Here’s some demos I recorded with the Axe-Fx III versions :

Are you still planning to make a demo of your Pink Floyd presets for the FM3? I would really like to hear how close they sound to your Axe-Fx III presets before purchasing.
Fremen

Thanks a lot for your answer ! ..Ok,I’ve seen the “Big Pack”,although it brings a lot,and I’m sure every preset sounds incredible, and that’s great for many guitarrists ,I realize that I wouldn’t use most of those presets.I mean for the style of music I play….
I thought it was posible to buy them like in this case, not so many presets and half the price.
Ok,I will think and decide what to do.
Thanks for the Information!
Kind regards

I just purchased.
Question, what is the deal with the “Out 2” version of the presets? What is that configuration for? What would the hardware setup look like for it?
Fremen
Initially, I had forgot the Copy Out 1 to Out 2 function, and had to use out 2 physical outputs for practical reasons – I had no XLR cables left or XLR inputs available in my soundcard. Then I remembered about the Copy Out 2 to Out 1, and removed the Out 2 block. I shouldn’t have made presets with Out 2 block in the first place
There will be an update for this pack, and all the others, for Cygnus firmware, a few days/weeks after it’s released

Hi! Thanks for all you do and share. I play a PRS 408, which has split coil selection. I have 3 related questions. Will the presets as they are be compatible with the single coil settings on the 408? 2-Do you make versions for using hum buckers? 3-Is there a recommended tweak for using hum buckers? Thanks!
Fremen
Hi Fred, thanks for your comments ! I use the presets with a HSS guitar, Strat type, and I made sure that the distortion presets work with the bridge pickup, both in humbucking mode and split. So, no adjustment necessary. For cleans I always use single coil, either neck or bridge + middle. I’m not familiar with the 408, however a friend have a Custom 24 and use these presets without any problem, he split the pickups for cleans too

Will there be Pink Floyd presets for Cygnus? Is this pack suitable for Cygnus ?

Fremen
Hi ! No I don’t plan on adding other songs, except maybe one, due to huge demand, “Coming back to life”. The songs in the pack are those I play with my band, so it’s a specific selection, a sort of “best of”
Brukered
Do you have something in there for the tremolo in the verses of money?
Fremen
Yes, in one of the Money preset scenes
ale
Buongiorno, aggiornerai il pacchetto al firmware 6.00? Grazie e complimenti per la qualità del tuo lavoro
Fremen
Hello ! Yes, all my packs will be updated. I didn’t do that yet because of health issues. I’ll try to do it before the end of the month, or beginning of January
ale
Grazie mille, ti auguro di rimetterti presto
Matteo Colosio
Hello! Any news on the update to 6.00 ? 🙂 Thanks!
Fremen
Already updated to 6.00, like all my FM3 packs
