This is the ultimate Pink Floyd presets pack for ToneX, using the onboard effects ! These 86 presets covers 28 songs : Another brick in the wall Pt 1 & 2, The happiest days of our lives, Breathe, Comfortably numb, Coming back to life, Dogs, Echoes, Goodbye blue sky, Have a cigar, Hey you, High hopes, In the flesh, Marooned, Money, Mother, On the turning away, Run like hell, Shine on you crazy diamond, The final cut, The great gig in the sky, Time, Us and them, Any color you like, Brain damage/Eclipse, Wish you were here, Young lust (with “Sorrow” intro).
They are “standalone” as they uses only the Tonex effects (compressor, modulations, delays, reverbs), so all you need to play live is the Tonex pedal (and a whammy pedal for Marooned obviously).
The songs are those I play with my Pink Floyd tribute band. The presets combines things from both the studio and PULSE era live versions, for consistency. Most of the tone models used here are brand new, compared to my Tonex + HX Effects and Tonex + Boss GX-100 packs, released previously. I used many OD/fuzz/drive pedals during the capture process, most of the time using a Coloursound Power Boost/Overdriver, as used by David Gilmour during the Wish you were here sessions, which I often stacked with other pedals (Wampler Eras fuzz, Rat, Crazy Tube Circuits Klon etc.).
Watch my demo here :
I used an external whammy pedal for Marooned, and for a small part in Breathe (to pitch up a chord shape that can’t be played with a slide). Also included are acoustic simulation presets, some of which are available in two versions : one for a piezo equiped guitar (for acoustic sounds), and one for a regular Stratocaster type guitar. Check the .xls file for details on which preset is used for which part of each song.
These presets were tweaked with three guitars : a Fender Telecaster Player for Run like Hell (with DiMarzio Twang King pickups, much more authentic sounding than the noiseless Fender pickups), and two Stratocasters : one American Ultra FSR, with a Seymour Duncan SL5 in bridge (David Gilmour’s go-to bridge pickup) and Suhr V60LP in middle in neck (again, better than the noiseless stock pickups), and a Squier Strat customized with the EMG DG20 pickups set, as used by Gilmour on PULSE. The American Strat also has the EMG SPC booster of the DG20 kit, and I used it on some leads. You can see all this in the demo video.
