The “Presets starter pack” for the Helix 2.01 firmware and above contains 12 presets + 9 user IRs. I made this one after receiving many requests for a smaller and cheaper pack. Here, there is one preset for each of the type of tones that I use – there’s one acoustic simulation, one eighties-like glassy clean, one Voxy crunch, one British crunch, one blues-rock lead, one metal rhythm, one metal lead etc…
UPDATE 14th May 2018 : small tweaks and improvements to the presets, with snapshots properly labelled etc. The presets in the update folder are compatible with firmware 2.50 and above only.

Just bought the starterpack, installed 2.54 presets and the 10 Ir (not 9 as mentioned in the read me file)
Installed them on loc 75 (read me says 74?) and 80-82 and 84 and 87-91
Have i done all correct. Is it correct that acoustic sim4 uses 087 LX TDR Marshall IR

Hello ! No, the acoustic simulation presets use the IR “080 LX TDR acoustic sim 1”, which should go to user memory 080, as its name suggest

Yesterday I bought the big pack and now I am trying to import the IR’s. I imported the IR’s to my helix but the slots go back to empty….What did I do wrong? I already updated my Helix to firmware 2.91…..

je cherche des sons plutôt clean ou léger crunch pour jouer de la soul (james brown, wilson pickett, blues brothers…). Quel pack me conseillez-vous pour retrouver ce type de preset ?

Bonjour, je ne suis pas trop dans ce genre de sons, mais certains presets du pack “synthpads & tonematches” sont assez vintage d’esprit, quoi qu’avec sans doute plus de gain que ce que vous recherchez (ce qui est réglable). Sinon le pack 2.30/2.50 update a pas mal de presets avec le Derailed Ingrid qui est un des meilleurs amplis du Helix pour le léger crunch ; là encore il faudra baisser le gain, quoi qu’il y ait déjà des snapshots labélisés “crunch”

Pas mal comme lieu de vie.Je vous envie un peu moi qui vis une partie de l’année en Bretagne( Finistère plus précisément).C’est une belle région mais le climat n’est vraiment pas top.
Du coup, je vais prendre dans la foulée le pack 2.3/2.50.

Oui le starter pack contient des presets exclusifs, comme tous mes packs. Ceux du starter pack ne sont pas les mêmes que ceux disponibles dans mes plus gros packs, même si forcément sur certains sons, ça se rapproche. Je recommande vivement le pack 2.30/2.50 ; à chaque fois j’essaie de faire mieux, et ce pack étant le dernier, il est à mon sens le plus abouti. Les retours d’utilisateurs me le confirment d’ailleurs. Mais à vrai dire le vrai bargain c’est le Megapack, au rapport qualité/prix imbattable. Certains de mes concurrents vendent un seul preset à 10 ou 15 euros, là pour 90 euros, j’en vends plus de 300…

Sorry to bore you once again, but i think that i have not clearly ask my question( probably cause i am french and my english is rather scholastic.)
When importing your presets with HX edit in a setlist, there is no attached IR with.So i have been importing the IR’s too ( that’s quite normal).And now i have to associate an IR to each of the presets that i have imported.For instance, what IR do i have to open for the British crunch preset ? Is it the LX TDR Blues 3 or the LX TDR Marshall ?
Notice that my Helix is a LT one ……

Ce n’est pas la peine de s’interroger pour tout ça : du moment que les IRs sont mises aux bons endroits, les presets fonctionneront comme il faut. Il est impératif donc de les mettre aux bons endroits – chaque IR est numérotée et le numéro correspond à l’emplacement où elle doit être mise. L’IR “090 HG1” par exemple doit être mise à l’emplacement utilisateur N° 90.

I just bought the Starter pack, to check if it sounds good.I am quite satisfied but, however i am not sure that i have attribute the good IR’s to the good presets.The IR’s have a number but the presets have none.

It’s quite simple really ; IRs goes to specific spots :
my IR 090 will go on the 090 spot etc
however it doesn’t matter where you store the preset. If a preset uses my IR 090 it will use it wherever you store that preset

Really impressed by the quality of sound. Unfortunately im running it on Helix Native so i am unable to utilize the snapshots. I have tried copying the snapshots from the Youtube demo you had but some are missing. Would it be possible to get the blueprints for the snapshots or would you release the snapshots as individual files?
Other than that the quality is great, really enjoying them!

Thanks for your comments ! Latest Native version now supports snapshots too so the presets are fully compatible
