This pack has 59 presets (*) and 26 user IRs, using all the amps and many of the new effects added in Helix firmware 2.30 and 2.50. Some of the IRs are custom mixes of valhallir.at (http://valhallir.at/en/) cabs. All presets uses several snapshots, often all 8, so it’s better to use them in 8 snapshots mode. These presets is for FRFR monitoring systems, and are intended to be used in stereo.
(*) including the bonus presets added for firmware 3.60, with the new Helix cabs. EDIT 17/11/2023 : 4 more presets added.
EDIT 13th may 2018 : one bonus preset, “Play on this”, added
IRs
You need to put the user IRs in the right places – “090 LX TDR HG1.wav” goes to user spot 090, etc.
Watch this video for the easiest procedure :
Please, don’t share these presets with anyone, I worked like crazy on those… They’re the most sophisticated/refined I ever did. Don’t forget to read the .xls file, which list all presets and gives some details on them ! I will also release a few videos showing how I use some specific presets.
The general volume of my presets is intended to be on par with the stock presets, or a little quieter. I wanted to avoid the risks of digital clipping, which I hear on many presets I downloaded from Custom Tone.

Bonjour
Petite question . Est ce que tout vos packs ir’ sont compatibles avec Helix floor 3.01 svp merci
Fremen
Bonjour, oui tous mes packs sont compatibles. Les nouveaux firmware Helix n’affectent pas les presets existants

Sorry !,I made a mistake in the previous comment..I wanted to say that I know there must be a difference in volume between a clean sound and a solo sound for example, and noticed that there was a big difference in some cases, but in any case,I can change it !.
Thanks !
Fremen
Hello Quique2020,
There should be around 3 db difference between lead and rhythm distortion scenes, that’s by design – although I also made presets where there’s no difference at all. The volume difference between clean and distortion tones, however, is heavily dependent on the guitar & pickups used. If you have mediium output pickups, it should be as intended ; with low output pickups, the clean snapshots may be too quiet, and with high output pickups, the cleans may be too loud. Note that I design my presets around humbucker bridge for leads, and combinaison of two pickups for cleans (central position on a Les Paul type guitar, pos 4 on a HSH superstrat guitar)
Cheers,
Thibault

Hello !…Thanks a lot for your message ! Good information… !
Maybe ,as you say,my guitars have different pick ups and that can help to increase the difference of volume.
I’m using an american PRS classic electric, and a Charvel which has SSH,and has Lace sensor pickups.Anyway it’s only happening in a couple of presets,so don’t worry
in any case I’ll see what happens when I use it live.
Your presets are amazing !…I’m going to check other packs.
Maybe you are planning to make something new…
I still didn’t update the firmware.
Ok,thanks a lot for your help !
cheers

Hello !..Hope you’re well.First of all ..congratulations ! ,I’ve just bought the Fremen Helix 2.30/2.50 update pack, and it sounds amazing ! Most of the presets are very very good.
I have a question though,I’ve noticed that some of the snapshots have very low volume compering to others, just a few cases.I know there must be and some don’t sound at all,for example Preset Andy 3 snapshot 2,Brit trem NM 1 all snapshots,Mean Ingrid snapshots 1 and 2,Brit Trem BT snapshots 2 and 6,etc etc.
Maybe I did something wrong, but I made sure that all the IRs were in the correct slots
Thanks !!

A fairly new Helix user, and was about to abandon my frustration with it til I came across your presets. VERY well done and feel like I finally have some better tones to work with. I currently have the big pack and big pack add on. Does the 2.30/2.50 update pack contain anything more? Also, do you do any custom requests? Looking for some dialed in tones from Pantera–cowboys, cemetery gates, walk, etc. Thanks!!!
Fremen
Thank you for your comments ! Yes I recommend the 2.30/2.50 pack, it’s one of my best packs. With experience I’m getting better I guess 😉
Rob Magnan
Interested in this pack as i love all the stuff I’ve purchased from you so far. I don’t generally run stereo though and never do when playing live. Will these presets work live? Will these work in Mono?
Thanks!
Fremen
Hello ! Yes they will, it’s just recommended to bypass the delay block in parallel path on presets that uses two IRs blocks – this is only for a few presets and in specific snapshots only. Btw this pack will soon be available in a bundle with the djent pack and a thrid pack that is already ready for release, Classic Rock and Hard Rock. Should be in my store in the next 24 hours
Rob Magnan
Fantastic! I also sent you an email regarding the L6 Powercab and any recommended tweaks. Anyway thank you for the information above! I will definitely wait to purchase that whole bundle when it comes out. Ho ho hopefully there’s a Christmas discount code. 🙂 All kidding aside though i bought your amps bundle and LOVE THEM! Also about my other question… I’m looking to use the amps packs and any of the other presets that may come in the above bundle you mentioned live. Apologies if its a stupid question but are they suitable for live performance through an FRFR or are they for studio use primarily?
Fremen
They’re for both ; the snapshots settings are for live, the tones works for both. Snapshot 8 is optimized for recording (no reverb and delay, slightly brighter sound)
Lucas Mariano Cuani
Since these presets were designed to run in stereo.
Would you say that the presets in the amp pack are more suited for recording only purposes?
Ty
Fremen
Not really ; the Amp Packs have snapshots designed for live use. They can be used both for live and recording
Lucas Mariano Cuani
Thais for the response
And what about this update pack for mono/recording uses?
Would u seu the amp packs fit these needs better?
Fremen
Both will work. This pack is much more varied than a single Amp Pack. However the Amp packs works great for recording too.
Rajesh
Hello Thibault,
Sorry, I did not know your name before! Watched the jam and my salutes to you and your talent! We are extremely lucky to have someone make presets as yourself and make them available to us for a very reasonable amount.
I have a request. I am looking for a sound / tone which will not be laden with too many effects. Typical Satriani and Vai tone which is rich yet not lost in digital effects. Which packs would you recommend which could get me close? The tone at 1:50 in the jam video by Steve was killer as a pushed clean sort of tone, for example. I am still trying to find one set of usable tone (clean, crunch, lead) which I will play mostly in the next ten years!
I have watched some “rig”videos of those of Santana, Slash, Satriani and their tone comes mostly from the Amp (and fingers!). Santana has almost no effect other than the Wah! Slash is also mainly Les Paul into Marshall AFD. I am still struggling to get a similar authentic sound from Helix. And I understand it is not possible to mimic boutique amps bit for bit…
Sorry for the long note. Your presets as per the video holds a lot of promise and hope for me. If you could suggest which packs would make sense, that would be great! My favourite guitarist are Satriani, Vai, Slash, Santana, Gilmour to name a few…
Thanks again!!
regards,
Rajesh.

Hello, thanks for your comments !
Usually lead tones needs some ambiance, be it delay or reverb or both ; play with a backing track and you’ll see why. No ambiance and your sound will be disconnected from the track. But if that’s you want, you just need to dial back the delay and reverb mix from my presets, or bypass them completely
I’ll suggest the Big pack and big pack add-on for your needs, and then the 2.30/2.50 pack
Rajesh
I really like the TDR and the Litigator in the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V78snFNkvKk&t=380s.
Which pack or packs would have these patches for Helix LT. I am also interested in Satriani / Vai presets. I am not sure which pack or packs to purchase.
What I am confused about your site is about 2 things:
1. Often there seems to be “no list” of presets with the pack. Where can I find the list of presets please?
2. Which pack would have presets with “snapshots”?
In summary, It would be great to have a) list of presets for every pack b) whether it is snapshot based c) updated till which version of firmware.
Thank you so much!!
Fremen
Hello Rajesh ! Most of the packs already have a presets list ; the video you link is about two packs released at the same time, which has those lists – Big Pack add-on and Synthpads & tonematches.
I just added one for the 2.30/2.50 pack, which was effectively missing, and which has other demonstration videos where you can see some of the presets.
I’m a big SteveVai/Joe Stariani fan, in fact I just met them at Vai Academy and jammed with Steve Vai there ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOAFIQXGwWA
Many of my lead sounds will work for playing Vai and Satch tones. You can get those tones in all my packs, and more specially in the Big pack, Big pack add-on and the 2.30/2.50 pack.
Almost all the presets in my latest packs has snapshots, and many in the Big Pack has snapshots too.
The product page indicates for which firmware the pack was made. Updates are not necessary in the Helix world, but I often add updates anyway.
Hope that helps !
Alexandre Capelier
Alexandre Capelier
Merci pour ton retour rapide. Alléchant tout ça! Tant pis pour Orange, cela me fera bosser un peu 😉
Jeff.H
To get the latest of everything, would I need to get this and the Mega Pack? Will you be offering an update for the amps and effects that have come out since 2.5? Possibly a new single download that offers everything? Thanks!
Fremen
1st question : yes. I’m waiting for new amp models to make another pack with new stuff, the latest amp models are already covered ! I also have different stuff in the “Amp packs”
Riley Larkin
What are the presets in this pack? Also is it possible to use the IRs on other presets?
Thank you,
Riley
Fremen
a little bit of everything, covering many bases, rock, metal, heavy blues, cleans. Yes of course many people like to use my IRs for their own presets
Simon Perkins
Apologies if this is a dumb question, but if I’ve already bought the Helix 6 Big Pack, does this “update” update any of the presets or IRs there? Or does it just add new things on top of the Big Pack?
Fremen
If you’re talking about the latest firmware update, it doesn’t affect my presets. It just give me more possibilities (new amps etc) for future presets.
Simon Perkins
No, I’m talking about this Fremen Helix 2.30/2.50 update pack. If I just bought the Big Pack, do I already have everything here? Or does this update pack upgrade any of the presets / IRs in the Big Pack? Or does it just add additional presets / IRs to those found in the Big Pack?
Fremen
These two packs are complementary, with different presets. But the 2.30/2.50 is more elaborate, with multiple snapshots on all presets. It’s considered by users my best work so far.
Fremen
“complementary” may not be the right word, I’m thinking in French, lol… It means that they’re distinct and complements each other
magruger44
are the big bundle presets ok to use with a helix that has 2.50 firmwar ?
Fremen
hello, yes it is
