These 28 presets covers 28 songs : Another brick in the wall Pt 1 & 2, The happiest days of our lives, Breathe, Comfortably numb, Coming back to life, Dogs, Echoes (main parts only, not the psychedelic impros), Goodbye blue sky, Have a cigar, Hey you, High hopes, In the flesh, Marooned, Money, Mother, On the turning away, Run like hell, Shine on you crazy diamond, The final cut, The great gig in the sky, Time, Us and them, Any color you like, Brain damage/Eclipse, Wish you were here, Young lust (with “Sorrow” intro). Also included are 7 user cabs (IRs).
Previously, these presets were only available in my Helix Big Pack. They’re now available in this standalone pack, in a a new, improved version, for firmware 3.15 and above. I re-dialed these presets to have a warmer/fatter distortion sound (I used a brand new IR for that), with less gain. Note : if you bought this pack before the 1st March 2022, I fine-tuned them again, while reamping the DI tracks from the video above – you can get the updated version from “My Account“.
I also fine tuned many effects, and used the new Dynamic Hall reverb.
I also added 2 new songs, Dogs and Coming back to life. Last but not least, 3 versions of the presets are included : 1 for HSS Strat type guitars, 1 for SSS Strat type guitars, and 1 for the Line 6 Variax. There are three versions of the Dogs preset : 1 for guitars tuned in D (like in the original version), 1 for guitars in Eb (I tune in Eb myself), and 1 for guitars in standard tuning. Three versions were needed because of the harmonizer.
Update : I re-dialed some sounds for firmware 3.71. Here’s two videos recorded with this version :
The songs are those I play with my Pink Floyd cover band. Most of the time we cover the original studio versions, sometimes it’s the live versions. For “Mother”, we play the Roger Waters “The Wall” live version ; for “Any color you like”, the Dream Theater cover version. “Money” is tweaked for the “Delicate sound of thunder” live version, “Comfortably numb” too. Note that I used an Axe-Fx II, then Axe-FX III, live with my band. This pack, made after receiving many requests, is a recreation of those Axe-Fx presets.

Will this pack be updated to Helix 3.50 firmware?
Fremen
No, as I use my own IRs, which I like better than the new stock cabs
Giacomo Valenza
It’s not a matter of IRs, but new instruments in the list. There’s a 12 strings guitar that’s not bad
Fremen
I don’t see any “12 strings guitar” in the new effects list ? And I was a beta tester for that firmware
Fremen
Hi, thanks! No need for an update, as I use my own IRs, which I like more than the new cabs.
Giacomo Valenza
Hi, great job…
Do you happen to have any update to 3.50 firmware…?
Tx
Fremen
No

Do these patches work with HX Effects…?

Hello,
in this package are included both the patches and the used IRs?
or must the ir be bought separately?
Fremen
Hello, IRs are included, as in all my packs.

Heya Rob,
fantastic work, as usual 🙂
Having Big pack but interested in this one because owning JTV-89F and thus interested in Variax patches. Are the PF patches built on ‘standard’ set of Variax presets (guitar types) or did you have them customized? Are Helix patches auto-changing presets on Variax guitar?
cheers, Tadej
Fremen
Thank you ! Variax is standard, and each Helix preset selects the relevant variax model. Sometimes, each snapshot selects a different model or pickup position.

I have the Helix LT version 3.15
I loaded the IR’s according to the NUMBERS at the beginning of the IR’s name. that worked ok.
When I dragged and dropped the Presets into the new preset list on the editor it said cannot load because the presets have unrecognised models.
I am not sure what to do now.
I also bought the Boss GT-1000 version of these patches .they all worked fine.
Please help
Fremen
Unrecognized models = either your Helix or HX Edit are not up to date.

Ciao,
Ho comprato il big pack tempo fa, per avere questo aggiornamento al 3.15 bisogna riacquistare questo pacchetto?
Grazie

Hello how are you, I ask you a question, these presets are also used for Helix Native 3.15 or are they only for the physical pedalboard? Greetings
Fremen
Hi, fine and you ? They work in Native, in the original Helix floorboard and in the Helix LT

I’ve just buy it, but patches with IR TDM Gilmour 2 in my DAW (Headphone direct to HX Rack 3.15 too) sounds dark 🙁 ………..of course Global EQ is Bypass.
IR are correctly assigned to patches & snapshot, please can you check?
Thank you very much indeed.

I guess you are talking about presets/snapshots that uses IR #127, “TDR Gilmour 2”, right ?
I worked several days on perfecting that IR. The one I used before was way too bright. My reference was Gilmour’s sound on PULSE, and more specifically the end solo of Comfortably numb. Haven’t listen to it for a while, I was amazed when I played it a few weeks ago. It was much, much darker that I remembered ! So, I decided to go for it. My new IR still gives you a brighter sound than the PULSE sound, but not much. I made several IRs, most brighter than the one in the pack, and ran tests for days, using critical monitoring systems, before settling on this one. If you want, I can send you the other IRs to load at #127, they will fit the presets without you needing to do anything, besides saving the presets with the new IR (as the Helix will the search for the original IR). You’ll chose the one you prefer. However, I can assure you that the one in the pack has the more authentic David Gilmour sound !

Yes, and You are right and I’m very sorry for writing before re-hearing today!
As you know, listening several tones can confuse our ears.
Incredible! today it sound different and good. I also thought that my Hlx has any bug.
I often refer to David Gilmour at Pompei Sound clearest & lovely according to me, maybe less Fat but great. Pulse is also great, and after reading I compare with that .. and you have made a very GREAT WORK! So You’re right, this pack has the more authentic David Gilmour sound in Pulse.
I played it by my original ’74 Stratocaster, great piece! but unfortunately its PU does’t enhance Mid frequency as EMG DG20. Obviously I’ve charged SSS Patches’ and Gain is good.
If you have some suggestions for different PU, or you can send me old IRS to import without replace TDR Gilmour 2, so I could choose what fit better.
sorry for my english 🙁
Congratulation Great work and sorry again.
