(firmware 2.82 and above)
This pack has not less than 131 presets (*), in three categories. Also included are 21 custom cabs (or IRs). As usual, those presets are for FRFR systems. My main guitar for making those was a Gibson SG and I also checked many presets with a Fender Telecaster, Fender Stratocaster, Epiphone les Paul and Harley Benton ES-335 type guitar. All the presets have multiple snapshots.
(*) including 2 presets for firmware 3.60, using the new Grammatico Dumble-like amp, which I love.
The three categories of presets here are :
1) New 2.80 Amps
22 presets using the guitar amp models introduced in firmware 2.80 (Grammatico, Fullerton, Revv Gen Red). The Revv Gen Red presets are the only ones in that pack that are made for metal – if you want more modern metal tones, please check my Djent & Prog Metal Pack !
2) Pedal Platform
18 presets using one drive model into a clean:edge of breakup amp. There’s many drive/amp combinations here ; you can try others by copying the blocks, or bypass the drive and try your own pedals. Effects settings (delay, reverb) are the same in all those presets.
3) Amp Packs
88 presets (11 amp models x 8 variations, using different cabs/tonestack & gain settings) made with amp models suitable for vintage/classic rock tones. The Amp Packs I released last year were really metal oriented ; those 88 new presets are much more suitable for classic rock & hard rock tones. They all have 8 snapshots, and the effects settings (delay, modulation, reverb etc.) are the same in each preset.
4) Bonus preset : a Rockman X100 tonematch
Here’s a very basic demo of the pack, focusing on the tonal variations :

I’m wondering, if I have the bigpack already installed, is it possible to also install the classic rock pack? Will the IRs overlap?

Hello, there’s no conflicts between the IRs used in different packs. I have only one set of IRs in my Helix and each of my different packs uses some of them

Thanks for the fast response. My mistake I should have said Cabs not amps. Anyway your explanation list above is perfect and now makes sense. I was looking at the I/R’s and not understanding how to lay out the additional ones. All good. Sounds great by the way.

Quick question and as per usual its all around I/R’s. I have the Big Pack, love it, and in that pack the I/R’s are put into 73 and upwards as far as I remember. I’ve just bought the Classic Rock pack and looking at the xls spreadsheet seems that I need to put the amp packs in where I can ie 1 up to 72 and edit the location of those to match the preset in the User list. Is this correct. I’ve put in the set list but slightly nervy on overwriting my I/R list which has my Floyd in. Thanks in advance.

Hello ! Something in your question is not correct and I don’t understand. Why do you talk about “Amp Packs” ? Regarding IRs, I have only one IRs collection in my Helix, so there’s no conflict.

Fremen here is another example that may be more clear:
When I select a preset (for ex PedalPlatform 01) from the pack (in the HX editor) the “IR select” is empty but it DOES show the corresponding number listed in the xls spreadsheet. i.e. the xls suggests Cab 1 should be 84.- the IR select in hx edit shows “84: “. I have the 21 IRs that come with the pack loaded in the first 21 slots for IRs in hx editor. I am obviously not grasping something here to make the Presets and IRs match correctly. Hope that helps explain some of my issue. Thank you
Fremen
Hello, sorry for the late answer, I’m travelling right now. Please read the PDF regarding IRs placement, it’s better explained there than I can explain now 😉 you didn’t save the IRs at the correct spots. IR 82 should be stored in user memory 82. Etc etc

Thanks again for the response.

Forgive me! Fullerton 4 DOES have 2 cab blocks but the rest of my question still applies.
Thank you
Paul Ivey
Hi again, Fremen!
I’m a little confused about the presets/IRs xls for my Classic/Hard Rock pack. For ex, Fullerton 4 calls for Cab 1 – 83 and for Cab 2 -116 in the xls. When I look up 83 for Cab 1 – I find 083 LX TDR Fender 2. When I look up IR 116 for Cab 2 I find there is no 116. I only see 075 – 094. Also, when I look at the performance view for Fullerton 4 I only see 1 cab/IR block. Therefore, I’m confused.
I’m sure this is a misunderstanding on my part of how this system is laid out. Can you clarify for me how the Cab numbers in the xls spreadsheet are to be utilized? Also, if I find 1 cab/IR block in a preset when the spreadsheet calls for 2 cabs, am I to add a second cab block? What if there is not enough DSP left in the path?
As you can see I’m a bit lost and I appreciate any help. BTW The presets I have running sound great!
Thank you
Paul

Thank you very much!

Hi!
I just purchased the Classic Rock and Hard Rock Pack and I’m thrilled to have it. Thank you! How do I know which IR’s to match with each preset? Is it trial and error or is there methodology? I’m new to the Helix/modeling world and wonder if I missing something. I’m using the Helix with a Les Paul thru a QSC K.12,2 wedge. My primary application for the Helix will be for live use in a classic rock cover band. Thanks, again!

Hi Paul ! Check the xls file for the presets/IRs list. You can also boost the level of the lead snapshot by boosting the 3 band comp level just in that snapshot !
