Est-ce que tous les presets son compatible (via fractool évidemment).

Beaucoup le sont, mais beaucoup aussi ne le sont pas, car l’Axe-Fx II est quand même beaucoup plus puissant, dispose de 2 blocks Amp/Cab/Synth/Pitch etc etc. Tu peux utiliser Fractool mais c’est beaucoup de boulot, la version AX8 de ces presets disponible sur mon site reste recommandée, j’ai optimisé tous les rpesets trop lourds pour l’AX8 etc.

No, because such a preset is not possible in the AX8, which has only one amp block and one cab block. All the other presets are there, this one is the only one which is not, due to the hardware limitations.

J’ai un ax8 et je dois faire toute une série de concerts bientôt, comprenant quelques Pink Floyd (comfortably, another brick, high hopes, etc), du Axel Bauer, du Eagles (hotel, victim, life in the fast lane), du phil collins (easy lover …) du U2 (One …) bref c’est assez hétéroclite …. Est-ce que le mégapack à 90 euros pourrait convenir selon toi, et est-il compatible avec le dernier firmware en cours (10.01) ?
Et tant qu’on y est, j’ai également un Kemper Powerrack, tu me conseilles un pack en particulier qui pourrait m’intéresser, comme ça je ferais un achat groupé ! 😉

Salut David,
Oui, les presets sont compatibles avec le firmware 10.01, et ils couvrent énormement de choses, même si seuls les presets Pink Floyd sont spécifiques à des chansons précises. Pour le Kemper, je n’ai pas beaucoup de packs, mais il y en a un pour pink Floyd, et le tout dernier, le SynAxe Pack, couvre beaucoup d’autres choses !

Hey. Are there presets in the Mega Pack that use Amps from the Amp Pack? ie do I need to buy the amp pack as well to make use of every preset?
If not, are there preset packs available that use the new amps in the amp pack?

Hello ! Those are separate products, you don’t need the Amp Packs to enjoy the Megapack and vice-versa. But I would suggest you get the megapack first. If you tend to gravitate towards a specific amp model, you can also get just the corresponding amp pack

I unzipped all the files and started from the first folder, alphabetically.
I wanted to start from the presets but the Youtube video explaining the procedure didn’t look at all as firmware 10.01 on AX8, so I moved to the cabs.
I did all the cabs from all the Megapack folders, some of them just repeat themselves, overlapping, but some of them completely rewrite cabs with a different kind. Since I applied all of them in sequence I know I lost some previously installed cabs.
Now about the presets, eventually I understood that I had to load them wherever I have some free space. In my AX8 it was free from Bank 55 onward. But there are only Banks up to 64. So what is the recommended procedure in order to load all the presets? To not load them all? To free some space before and load the ones I want? What’s the best practice?
I gotta to say that the accompanying docs don’t cover anything short of the most basic instructions.

Hello,
There’s no cab overlaps unless you install all the acoustic simulations – but these are bundle presets and you can store the cabs where you want. It’s not necessary to install all those presets because 2 or 3 should suffice to cover your specific needs, which depends on which guitar/pickups you want to install them.
For the other packs, if you have so little space available, I suggest you install one pack at a time, check the presets you like and keep them, and overwrite those you don’t. Repeat for each pack

J’ai remarqué que lorsqu’on change de preset il y a un petit temps de latence alors que ce n’est pas le cas pour les scenes. Par conséquent, les scenes me semblent plus pratiques que les presets pour le Live. Qu’en penses-tu ?

Ah, la Normandie, c’est de là que je suis originaire de par mon père figure-toi, on y trouve paraît-il pas mal de Robillard à certains endroits !
Les presets utilisant plusieurs scènes sont généralement indiqués comme tels dans le fichier .XLS les listant. Tous les presets HGSP du pack metal en ont 5, et généralement les presets “song specific” aussi (ceux de Pink Floyd, U2, Owner of a lonely heart…)
Effectivement utiliser les scènes plutôt que de changer de preset, c’est mieux pour du live. Seul le changement X/Y d’un bloc amp a une petite coupure qui peut être génante.

Oui ca marche en Q10.01. Pas de presets corrompus, j’ai juste remarqué que le volume de certains avaient légèrement bougé. Je n’ai pas jugé nécessaire de faire une mise a jour pour ça, c’est mineur.
Par contre pour utilisation avec cab traditionnel je ne peux rien garantir. Mes presets sont optimisés pour FRFR, les IRs sont importants. Ca marchera certainement mais sur certains ca sera trop sourd, d’autres trop aigu etc. Pas quelque chose de dur à corriger mais sur plus de 400 presets ca demandera de la patience. Si tu en utilise un nombre plus réaliste, pas de problème.
Sinon oui tous les packs déjà sortis sont inclus.

Hello, that reply was for a French user with very specific questions and French is easier for me
quick translation : yes my presets works in Q10.01. No corrupted presets, I just noticed that the volume of some of them had changed. As it’s a minor change, I didn’t do an update just for that.
Regarding using a traditional cab I can’t guarantee the result. My presets are optimized for FRFR, the IRs are important. For some it will sound great, others will sound too dark, others too bright etc. Not something which is hard to tweak but for 400 presets it requires patience. For a shorter number of presets, no problem. Besides that, all the packs released before the Megapack are included. [ADDENDUM : The Amp packs, which are newer, are not included, there are other bundles for them]
