AX8 – Cleans & Blues pack

This pack specializes in clean & blues tones for the Fractal Audio AX8, with Quantum firmware 7.02 (older firmware not supported). There’s 94 presets here : 38 cleans, 17 special effects, 10 presets made with Vox and Vox-like amps (clean, edge of breakup, mid gain for lead playing) and 29 presets for blues (mostly modern blues fusion, à la Robben Ford, Carlton, Frank Gambale etc). It’s almost the same collection than the one for Axe-Fx II, except a few presets that couldn’t be adapted due to missing effects blocks or not enough CPU power.

EDIT 22 March 2018 : there’s now a Quantum 9.04 version of the presets available in the package, use this version if you have Quantum 9.04 or above in your AX8.

These presets will work with a variety of guitars but are optimized for superstrats with a humbucker in bridge and neck and a single coil in the middle. I used an Ibanez RG to tweak them and usually uses position 4 of the pickup selector (middle single coil pickup + splitted bridge humbucker) for clean and crunch toness, and the bridge or neck humbuckers for mid to high gain. These presets are for FRFR systems, not traditional guitar speakers. Updates, if necessary because of changes in the firmware, will always be free.

These presets uses 31 user cabs, which I made from free sources and various techniques like tone matching. All those cabs are included and must be installed at the user spots indicated by their names (see video, link below).

Installation procedure for presets :

My presets comes in banks of 8, which you can send where you want in your AX8. Backup your own presets first ! And send them to empty spots or over presets you don’t want to keep.

Installation procedure for cabs :

This video was made with an Axe-Fx but the procedure is the same with the AX8. You need to drag & drop each cab to its correct spot, according to its filename (Cab 001 goes to user spot 001, etc.)
