EDIT 9th April 2019 : ARES 1.03 versions of the presets added
(older firmware not supported)
This is my main pack for Axe-Fx II MKI/II, XL/XL+ and Quantum firmware 7.02 and up
It’s the presets I use live with my cover bands, or which I use just for fun. They’re all in my bank A, so there’s 128 presets here. They cover all the bases I need : clean, crunch, mid gain, high gain, blues fusion, special effects…
These presets will work with a variety of guitars but are optimized for superstrats with a humbucker in bridge and neck and a single coil in the middle. I used an Ibanez RG to tweak them and usually uses position 4 of the pickup selector (middle single coil pickup + splitted bridge humbucker) for the clean and crunch presets, and the bridge or neck humbuckers for mid to high gain. Updates for these presets, if necessary because of changes in the firmware, will always be free.
These presets uses 44 user cabs, which I made from free sources and various techniques like tone matching. All those cabs are included and must be installed at the user spots indicated by their names (see video, link below).
Here’s my user cabs list : Fremen User Cabs (02.04.2017)
A few are my personal mixes of cabs from Valhallir.at, who gave me permission to share them with my presets. Check their cabs here : http://valhallir.at/en/
EDIT 21 October : I updated the Pink Floyd presets, for firmware Quantum 10.01. Current owners of the pack just need to download the zip file again, the presets are in the “Bonus” folder.
Here’s a few videos. the synth pad beneath is also in the preset.
Check this video for the presets and cabs installation procedure:

I write too fast in combination with automatic word correction. I mean his sound ;-)) I’m a Brit Floyd fan. I was at two Brit Floyds concert in Zagreb Croatia, 2013 and 2016 and then I fell into the sound of Fractal AXE FX. Many of my friends do not believe me what this digital device can do. Best regards, P

Hi, you did an excellent job. I’m happy with the purchase. Most settings are like the original version if we can say that very simple. Some are not, such as Comfortable numb, I mean on original studio and concert P.U.L.S.E. version like the best. You must still work on Big Muff Tons (Pi, Triangle and Civil War) with some of the overdrive pedals for boosting such as Tube Driver, Tube Screamer or Blues Driver. Do not understand this as a critique but a hint of a perfect tone as you did on other presets. For Example, Eduardo Scordo from Brit Floyd has excellent stage sound on yours AXE FX. I have more two questions: In witch presets I have to use external volumen pedal and where do you find it the backing tracks? Thanks a lot, Best regards. Peter

Not a fan of the Axe fuzz models, so i didn’t use those. However i’m going to check them again now that the drives have been revamped. I don’t understand the “has excellent stage sound on yours AXE FX” – why “yours” ? Not a fan of his sound on his videos though, but his playing is really great

Hi I upgraded to ares 1 or quantum 11 (Beta) I noticed that most of my patches have much more gain than before.Unfortunately I don’t have another unit with Q10 to test this.I a looking forward to the final release and the updated pack. Could you confirm that there will be an update to the packs.I have the acoustic, fremen picks and the 5SC.
Fremen
Hello ! Yes there will. It will take me some time though
Neil Richardson
Hi do you have a list of cabs that go with the specific patches ? as i already have some custom cabs i don`t want to lose or over right ? Thanks
Fremen
Yes it’s included in the pack, in .xls format
Neil Richardson
Thanks for the reply. Great work 🙂

Hello presents work for all fractal versions i have axe fx original
Fremen
Hello, they works for Axe-Fx II MKI/MKII/XL/XL+ with firmware Quantum 7.02 and above. Cheers
John Fillmore
Just purchased Fremen’s Picks and watched your video about installing them. I have Axe Fx II XL + with FW 10.01. I am following your video exactly with your cab files visible on Win Explorer and trying to drag and drop them into Axe Manage Cabs view, number for number. When I try to bring the files into the Axe Fx cab window my cursor turns into an X with a circle around it and it doesn’t allow me to move them over. What am I missing?
John Fillmore
Ok. Looks like I needed to move the contents of the zip file into a different folder than it unzipped to. All is well.
Fremen
Hello, yes, Axe-Edit can’t see archived files that are not extracted, though Windows Explorer can. So you need to extract them in a folder first.

Will this pack work with q 10.0?
Fremen
Yes, 100 % compatible

Is it possible to make the intro for “Coming Back To Life” and “Sorrow” by Pink Floyd? I’ll buy it…I got almost all you pack’s :). Please, let me know. Thank you for your excellent job!
Fremen
Hello, Sorrow is already there, scene 3 of “Young lust” preset
Igor Pishchulin
Yes, I know, I have it from you, thank you, but I meant with harmony synth pad part…
Fremen
OK, no I don’t have a preset for that unfortunately
Igor Pishchulin
Thank You! If you will have a chance to make it…I’ll buy it!!!
