31 presets for firmware 2.21 and above (NEW : 37 for firmware 3.71) – 13 “synthpads”, which uses the 4 OSC Generator as a backing for playing over (each snapshot triggers a different chord) ; and 18 tonematch presets, which uses exclusive IRs, to reproduce the sound of popular amps not available in the Helix (like the Diezel VH4, Friedman Dirty Shirley, ENGL Savage, Splawn etc.), or recording of amp that I like.
– The “synthpad” presets uses one 4 OSC Generator, and sometimes two of them for for more complex chords, followed by modulation. Those presets are for songs from Steve Vai, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Eagles, Santana, Shawn Lane, Genesis and U2, plus two generic ones.
– Included is a chart for correspondence between frequencies and musical notes, and a list of basic chords and corresponding frequencies, so you can customize those presets.
– I will add more presets like these in the future, for other specific songs, as a free bonus for existing customers. However, as the number of presets rise, the price of the pack may rise a little too, so it’s better to get it now 😉
– This pack uses 24 user cabs : 15 for the tonematch presets, 8 from the Big Pack released in 2016, and one of my valhallir.at (http://valhallir.at/en/) custom mix.
EDIT : 2.82 update available :
new preset, added 27/09/2017 :
UPDATE 15th May 2018 : tweaks to some presets (more snapshots to the Tonematches etc.). The latest versions are in the “2.50 update” folder, and may be compatible with firmware 2.50 and above only.
IRs
You need to put the user IRs in the right places – “090 LX TDR HG1.wav” goes to user spot 090, etc.

In the fractal section there is a pack called drones. Sustained synth tones with definable key and tonality. Is this similar to that?
Fremen
Yes, absolutely
Geo
Hi, do your presets work with Helix 3.01? Thanks
Fremen
Hello, yes they do !
GrampaBob
HI do you have any synth underlay presets for the outro solo synth chord changes in Another Brick part 2? Guitar solo while changing those synth chords underneath.
Fremen
Hello ! No I don’t but that would be easy to do. I’m pretty busy these days to do it now now, but if you can’t wait, use the chords chart bundled in my pack, you could do it in 5 minutes 🙂

ok merci

slt cher fremen,

As soon as I load a patch, the first snapshot drone starts playing. Is there a way to turn the synth on and off within the patch?
Fremen
Hello, on some of those presets the last snapshot has the synth muted, you need to save the preset with that snapshot selected. For those which has synth on in the 8 snapshots, you need to bypass the synth block in the snapshot of your choice and save the preset on that snapshot
Neill00
you can open the preset in a text editor like notepad and get exact values that way.

Hi I just bought the Megapack but since my question is about the pads, I thought I should post it here. You seem to have been able to get pretty specific in the values you assigned in the frequencies to create the proper notes. For me if I want to change the note values on one of the pads to create a different chord anything above 100hz jumps by 10. So 100 to 110 to 120 etc. even if I double click and type in 113 for example, when i hit enter to lock in the value it jumps back to 110. You have whatever values you wanted in there (other than decimal points) how did you get them to stay? I can’t customize my chords until i figure this out. Thanks
Fremen
I have the same problem too with lower notes, I wish the Helix allowed more precise frequency selections…
Neill00
I’m not sure you understood what I was getting at. There actually is more precision on the low notes. Anything below 100 Hz goes in single digit increments. Once you get above 100 Hz it seems to go in increments of 10. It appears that somehow you have been able create chords within your snapshots that require frequencies that aren’t a multiple of 10 and I’m wondering how you did it.
For example the streets have no name patch the bottom row you have D, G, A and Bm.
Snapshot 1 is the D chord. You have low to high, 73 Hz, 293 Hz, 370 Hz, and 440.
If I tried to recreate that, the 293 would be 290. How did you get 293 to stick. Even in HX Edit, I can double click the value and type in 293 but it jumps back to 290.
Neill00
The G chord is a better example because you’ve managed to enter the following values
98, 247, 294 and 392. I could only get
98, 250, 290 and 390 and that isn’t closer enough. There must be a trick to this that I’m missing.
Fremen
oh, I’m doing exactly like you, entering the numbers manually. Just tested, and now I can’t enter specific numbers, like I could before. It may be a newest firmware thing ?

Ok. Thank you

hi
i ‘m looking for presets tone just like allan holdsworth (tone like violin).
is your package include some tone like that?
Fremen
Hello, no, but it’s not hard to tweak a preset to do that – less gain, less high end, more mids
Fabrizio
Hi
there isn’t solution ?
I bought the package Synthpads and tonematches
I have the guitar tuned -1 (1 semitone down in LAb).
How can I change the tuning of the pads to -1 (1 semitone down LAb) .
Best Regards
Neill00
I figured this out. you need to save the preset to your computer. Then right click the preset on your computer and choose “open with”. You may need to click “other” and then choose “notepad”. You will see all the data for the preset. You’ll have to carefully go through and find the frequencies for each oscillator. Using the chart that Fremen provided in the excel spreadsheet, look at the frequency that is there and figure out the note by looking at the chart and then look at the frequency one semi-tone down and enter that frequency value in place of the existing one. You’ll have to continue on and do it for all 4 frequencies in all of the snapshots. It’s a little tedious but you’ll get used to the process and become pretty good at it. Once you’ve changed them all choose “file” at the top of “notepad” then “save as” and save the changes. You can use a different name or copy over the original file using the same name. Then load the newly edited and saved preset back into your helix. I usually load it into a different empty slot, just in case I made some mistakes. So far I’ve had a lot of success, and you can enter the decimal points as well even though they don’t show on the helix.
Fremen
Great tip, thanks !

Hello – I purchased this pack and the starter pack but am having trouble with loading them. I am missing something in this pack because I am not getting the pad sounds at all. What do I need to do? Thanks in advance for your help.
Fremen
Hello, select another snapshot then go back to the first one and it will work. It’s a bug btw, Line 6 is aware and will fix it with next firmware (2.50)
David Charlton
Got it, and got it working; thanks very much! They are really awesome sounding patches – thanks for your time in putting them together!

Hi,
This synth pack is interesting. I am searching for a minimoog single not synth sound to use in The Cars’ Just What I Needed. Can this be accomplished with this pack? I have no experience with the synth effects pedals and settings so, while the Helix is powerful I just can’t harness it quite yet.
Thanks,
Jim
Fremen
Hi Jim, the Helix synth is really basic and can’t do authentic minimoog tones. Close enough, maybe, I use many modulation blocks to give the synth a more complex sound…
Aaron Tucker
Brilliant! Helix appears to be complicated but use on computer and with tech guys like this it makes it fun and less work. keep it up.
Maciej Basa
HI. Can you make a list of songs played on these presets?
Fremen

Love of God = Steve Vai
Marooned = Pink Floyd
Shine on you = Pink Floyd
Song of the wind = the Santana song
Streets + ISHFWILF = two U2 songs
TDR synth lead 1 = improvise what you want
TDR synth lead 2 = idem
